Entwicklung von lärmminimierenden Propellern

This study investigated the impact of various propeller models and types, which could be used for small drones, on the aerodynamic and aeroacoustic properties. Silent propellers have the potential to minimize noise pollution in urban areas. The research aimed to develop quiet and effcient propellers by exploring different blade counts and wing geometries, as well as testing innovative concepts such as toroidal and bioinspired propellers. The propellers were 3D-printed and tested using a custom-built testing rig, where thrust production, as well as the frequency and intensity of the produced sound, were measured. The experimental results indicate that the newer propeller concepts cannot outperform traditional designs. Additionally, the study found that propellers with more than three blades tend to reduce overall thrust and effciency. To optimize effciency, the propeller blades should have a curved profle.
